What is The Wild Card?
The Wild Card is a free-to-download student lifestyle app linking businesses across the UK with thousands of students through targeted rewards and special offers.
How much is membership?
The app can be downloaded and used completely for free. However, for our best deals and access to all of our partner events, Wild Card Plus membership can be purchased for £25 and lasts a full calendar year. Remember to use your sports and societies codes for the discounted rate at the point of upgrade.
Who can join?
Any university student across the UK and Ireland aged 17+. We may ask for a valid ID or student card.
How do I use my offers?
There are three ways to use the offers in the app. For the at-till service, students show a unique QR code and photo in the app at your checkout for validation. Each QR code is unique and tied to that transaction, and for time-sensitive offers it can't be screenshotted, copied or reused.
For our card-linked rewards, students link the bank cards they use every day. Spend at these venues or online is matched automatically and cashback is credited once the payment clears and the partner validates the purchase, nothing to scan.
For the affiliate rewards, students shop online through a private tracking link and a cookie records the visit, so completed sales earn them cashback. You only receive commission when a sale completes and the partner validates the purchase.
Where can I use The Wild Card?
The Wild Card can be used at over 1,000 brands, both in person and online depending on the type of deal. The app has a map to highlight the physical stores where it can be used. Follow the steps in 'How do I use my offers' to access each deal the right way.
Can I use an offer more than once?
Most offers are unlimited use for the lifetime of your membership. A small number are introductory, weekly or day-sensitive, and those are clearly marked in-app.
What if a venue won't honour the discount?
Drop us an email at info@thewildcardapp.com with the venue name and date and we'll sort it. We work directly with every partner so it's usually a quick fix.
I lost my phone, what happens to my membership?
No problem. Reinstall the app, log back in with the same email, and your membership and points are exactly where you left them, they're tied to your account, not the device.
Do you offer refunds?
You can ask for a refund for any reason within 14 days of buying Plus.
Within 14 days: request a refund through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google will decide under their own refund policies, including if you've already used Plus.
After 14 days: no change-of-mind refund. Your Plus benefits carry on until the end of your 12 months.
If your Plus is refunded, any extra Plus cashback (above the standard free rate) that hasn't been paid out yet will be removed. Standard cashback you've earned stays in your account.
