Open banking, explained: safe, read-only, and it does the work for you
Linking your bank sounds scary. It isn't. It's FCA-regulated, read-only, and you can switch it off any time. Here's what's actually happening behind the scenes.
Card linking is what makes automatic cashback possible, and it runs on open banking, the same secure technology your banking apps and budgeting tools already use.
It's read-only
The connection we request is 'account information' only. Wild Card can see qualifying transactions to match your rewards; it cannot initiate payments, move money or change anything about your account.
It's regulated and revocable
Access is provided through an FCA-regulated open banking provider, and it isn't a credit application, so it leaves no mark on your credit file. You can revoke access at any time, from inside Wild Card or directly with your bank.
What it unlocks
Once linked, rewards are credited automatically when you spend at a partner, even if you forgot you were somewhere that takes Wild Card. We can also flag offers you missed.
If you unlink, we stop reading transactions immediately and delete the stored history within 7 days. Rewards you've already earned stay in your balance.
